Measuring & Sizing

Tips for Measuring your Backflow Device:

  • When measuring for the length of an irrigation backflow device allow 3" to 5" to each end to compensate for the thickness of the backflow preventer. 

  • For the height, measure from the ground to the highest point. 

  • Height is not as important as the length, better to be a little long in length then too tight.

 
  • When measuring for the length of a double check backflow, allow 5" to 7" to each end to compensate for the diameter of the pipe.
  • Measure the side of the device that sticks out the furthest, compensating for the thickness of the center.
  • For the height, measure from the ground to just under the wheel handles. It's not critical that the cover touch the ground.
